[error]/usr/libexec/mysqld: Can’t create/write to file ‘/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.pid’ (Errcode: 13)[/error]

while starting mysql service on plesk server I was getting above error.

 
/var/log/mysqld.log was showing logs

101114 12:43:42 mysqld started

101114 12:43:42 [ERROR] /usr/libexec/mysqld: Can’t create/write to file ‘/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.pid’ (Errcode: 13)
101114 12:43:42 [ERROR] Can’t start server: can’t create PID file: Permission denied
101114 12:43:42 mysqld ended

FIX:

I found directory /var/run/mysqld/ had ownership as root root. I have changed it mysql root

chown mysql /var/run/mysqld/

If you get above error after logged into cPanel, then do not panic there is a simple fix for this error.
If you have root access to server then check cPanel logs at

tail -f /usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_log | grep cPanel-username

Note: Replace your actual cpanel user name with cPanel-username and try accessing cPanel which will generate error logs for cPanel.

Logs will show you that you have exceeded your allowed disk quota for domain.

Now you will need to delete unwanted file from your account or increase disk quota for domain which will fix the issue.
